£290 million heathrow tram scheme unveiled

A £290 million plan to create a tram lane on the A4 between Heathrow and Hammersmith in West London has been unveiled by Hounslow Council.

Trams would operate every six minutes during the rush hour, either alongside or in the central reservation of the A4.

The scheme is backed by BAA Heathrow and could significantly reduce traffic jams on the busy west London route but it could take another 10 years to build.
