Azamara Cruises has appointed David Siewers as international chief sales officer.
Siewers will start in the Miami-based role from May 22 and will be responsible for all markets outside North America.
The line commented that the new appointment "demonstrates commitment to supporting travellers and agents across the world" and "targets global growth".
Siewers has spent more than 11 years at Celebrity Cruises, most recently as director of northeast sales where he led the company’s first localised marketing campaign and increased booking volumes.
UK and EMEA managing director David Duff, international marketing manager Natalie Holder, director of LACAR Carlos Herrero and director of sales for Australia and New Zealand Victoria Chigwidden will report to him.
The new hire comes as Azamara Cruises promoted Stuart Pearce and Lee Surman to newly created senior roles to serve the UK and international markets.
Dondra Ritzenthaler, Azamara Cruises chief executive officer, said: "David is an exciting addition to Azamara Cruises.
"We are growing as a company and his extensive knowledge of this ever-evolving travel space will allow us to continue delivering exceptional guest experiences.
"David will guide us as we increase our global presence and performance through strategic alliances with agents and travellers alike in key international markets. I cannot wait to see how he will foster growth and explore more avenues for expansion.”
Siewers added: “I have long admired Azamara Cruises’ commitment to immersive travel experiences and cannot wait to begin my tenure in May.
"I look forward to leading our international teams to ensure we continue growing sales performances in each market, while strengthening existing relationships and finding new opportunities with valuable trade partners around the world."
