The Travel Agents’ Database: Agent’s response

John Woodward’s first satisfied customer is David Wootton, who owns Knighton Travel Worldchoice in Tamworth, Staffordshire

“The main advantage is that it is a cheap system to buy and very easy to use. I have looked at other systems on the market and many of them cost three or four times more than this one.

“A lot of systems suppliers tie you into a contract to rent or lease purchase for five years and that can cost £70-£80 a month, but with this system, it is a one-off payment.

“A lot of systems are very straightjacketed. This system was created because I really wanted to do things a certain way.

“Price is definitely the main benefit, but it is as quick as most of the systems I have seen, in some cases, quicker.”

Wootton said that the point and click technology meant it was easy to use and agents didn’t have to spend time learning difficult codes.

“Many of the systems around are still dos-based systems. But the young travel agency staff who are now starting to work are all used to using Windows-based technology at school.

“It’s half the price of its nearest competitor and probably a quarter of the price of others.

“It does the job and is on a par or better than anything that I have seen in the market.”
