Thanks very much Tall Stories for the big commission gesture

How nice it is, as a Travel Trust Association member, to be able to thank a TTAtour operator for actually informing us that a client who had picked up a Tall Stories brochure from us had just booked direct with them. And, furthermore, how nice that Tall Stories is giving us the credit for introducing these clients to them and will be paying us commission for the booking.

It really is a shame that, in this day and age, where all of the larger tour operators get recognised in the annual travel agency awards, that smaller companies such as Tall Stories never stand a chance.

In fact it is they who tend to offer not only a better service and better standard of holiday for clients but can also find the time and energy to write and support us by sending us commission for our hard work, even if the client does eventually book direct with them.

Brochure supplies are also a problem with most operators (and please take note, Airtours, we need a bulk supply of all brochures) as we are graded according to sales, yet more and more direct numbers and Web site addresses seem to be appearing on every page, directing our customers away from us and towards booking direct with these companies.

I know certainly that we have every intention of giving Tall Stories every possible support we can in the future in terms of priority racking.

Just how many companies are willing to own up and pay us commission like Tall Stories did?Judging by previous letters that have appeared on this page, you could count them on one hand.
