Sandals has long been known for its commitment to complimentary weddings, with couples staying three nights or more eligible for a free package at any of the group’s resorts.

The deal includes a wedding planner, ceremony, cocktail reception and honeymoon dinner, and if they book guests, clients will also get a selection of extra ‘Bells and Whistles’ too.

Stay seven nights and they’ll also get credit for licence fees, photography and more.

Couples get a wedding coordinator, ceremony, dinner reception, cake and spa discount all on the house, with the option to upgrade to a legally recognised ceremony for an additional fee.

Extra guests and cherry-on-the-cake toppings such as a Dominican-themed cocktail party, disco and Bridal Suite package can be added.

It’s not only in the Caribbean that couples can find some decent deals; Mauritius has its own answer to the free-weddings trend at Sugar Beach.

Guests staying five nights or more get a Celebration Specialist, wedding gift, ceremony, beach dinner for two, as well as other freebies.

Book it: Caribtours offers seven nights’ half-board from £1,799 per person, based on two sharing, until October 31, 2022, with flights and transfers.

Playa Mujeres Mexico

Secrets Playa Mujeres, Mexico

Like Sandals, AMResorts offers free weddings across its brands, from its adult-only Zoëtry properties to family-friendly Dreams resorts for couples wanting to bring the kids.

For those after a fiesta to remember, look to Mexico, where Secrets Playa Mujeres offers a symbolic ceremony with all the trimmings for free when guests stay seven nights or more – including a Newlywed Package and a room for the bride or groom the night before the wedding.
