Great Rail Journeys has expanded its portfolio for 2021 with 12 new tours.
The escorted rail operator's Worldwide brochure features new tours in the US, Canada, India, Sri Lanka, Scandinavia, Russia, Africa, Australasia, South America and Asia.
Four of the tours are in the US and Canada. They include a 17-day Alaska Cruise and North American National Parks itinerary, from £5,995, which offers travel on the Denali Star and Glacier Discovery railways. Clients can travel though Denali National Park with the chance to see moose, wolves and grizzly bears, while the trip also features a cruise through the Inside Passage and a river boat trip on the Tanana and Chena rivers in Alaska.
The price includes eight nights in a three-star hotel and a seven-night cruise on Holland America Line's Nieuw Amsterdam or Noordam, and 30 meals.
Other new trips include a 17-day Tigers and Leopards of India and Sri Lanka, from £2,995, including the Taj Mahal, Rajasthan and Ranthambore National Park, home of the Bengal tiger, and Sri Lanka's largest park, Yala National Park.
The new 11-day Majestic Africa and the Train on the Bridge trip costs from £6,995 and includes South Africa's Kruger National Park, with a stay in stationary carriages of the refurbished Kruger Shalati, also known as The Train on the Bridge.
In Zambia, clients can go on a sunset cruise along the Zambezi River. The maximum group number is capped at 20.
To mark the launch of the tours, the operator is offering two-for-one flight upgrades on selected 2021 departures. Clients can upgrade inbound and outbound flights from £350 when booking before June 1. In addition, an early-booking offer has savings of up to £200 for 2021 bookings by the same date.
