EasyJet service from Liverpool to Malta takes off in December

EasyJet has expanded its Malta programme with a new route to Liverpool which will take off for the first time this winter.

The service will operate year-round with departures on Tuesdays and Sundays from December 10.

Flights and holidays will be available to book from June 11.

The new route to Malta will be the fourth the airline has added to its Liverpool network in the last 12 months, following services being introduced to Enfida in Tunisia, Hurghada in Egypt and the Greek island of Corfu.

Package holidays to Malta through easyJet holidays will feature a mix of all-inclusive resorts, from the four-star db San Antonio Hotel and Spa for families to the adults-only four-star Seaview Hotel in St Pauls Bay.

Ali Gayward, easyJet UK and Malta country manager, said: “We are delighted to be announcing another new route from Liverpool…providing our customers in the northwest with even greater choice and connectivity to more of Europe’s best holiday destinations.

“Our continued growth and strong relationship with the Malta Tourism Authority has enabled us to invest in helping to promote the island and highlights the popularity of the market where we will operate a third more flying this summer.”

Paul Winfield, aviation director for Liverpool John Lennon airport, added: “We are delighted to welcome this new service to Malta with easyJet – a destination that we know is popular with holidaymakers from across the Liverpool city region and beyond.

“With just 9% of all flights to Malta from the northwest currently served from Liverpool, this route has significant opportunity to grow from here.”

EasyJet has seven aircraft based at Liverpool John Lennon airport, flying about two million passengers a year to 27 destinations.
