Jet2 confirms its biggest Greece programme to date

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have confirmed that this year will offer the companies’ biggest Greece programme to date, with air capacity growing 12% on last year.

The airline and tour operator, which have been running a marketing campaign with the Greek National Tourist Office (GNTO), will have more than 100 routes on sale from across 11 UK airports to 14 in Greece, with Jet2holidays customers able to choose from 20 Greek destinations.

The new routes being offered for 2024 are Liverpool to Corfu, Liverpool to Heraklion, Liverpool to Kos, Liverpool to Rhodes, Liverpool to Zante, Birmingham to Mytilene, and Newcastle to Chania.

Jet2holidays trips to Symi – north of Rhodes – and Athens Coast are also starting this summer, helping bring the total number of Jet2 seats on sale to Greece this year to 1.52 million.

Jet2 chief executive Steve Heapy said: “This year will see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays operate its biggest-ever programme to Greece and we have invested significantly in ensuring that customers know all about this fantastic destination, and that they enjoy our award-winning and industry-leading experience when they travel to Greece with us.

“Greece offers UK holidaymakers perfect holidays in amazing hotels with guaranteed sunshine, and these are just a few of the many reasons why it continues to be such a firm favourite with our customers.

“As well as expanding and investing in this incredible country, a critical driver of our success in Greece is the partnerships we enjoy, and our long-standing partnership with GNTO is a perfect example of this.”

He added: “We look forward to continuing to boost awareness and sales with our partners through this innovative campaign work, especially early in the year which is such a key booking period for UK holidaymakers.”

During peak periods this year, Jet2 will operate around 320 weekly flights to Greece.

The 14 destination airports are: Athens, Corfu, Chania (Crete), Heraklion (Crete), Kefalonia, Halkidiki, Kos, Kalamata, Lesvos, Preveza, Rhodes, Skiathos, Santorini and Zante.

Increased capacity in March and April is being applied to Crete (Heraklion), Corfu, Lesvos, Rhodes and Santorini.

The summer season for Crete (Heraklion) and Rhodes is being extended until mid-November.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have also added a new Sunday departure for summer 2024 from Manchester.

The new services will run from July 21 to September 1, in addition to three other existing departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. They mean that the sister brands have four weekly Manchester services on sale to Santorini during summer 24.

Overall, Jet2holidays customers will be able to choose from about 1,500 hotels in Greece, with 200 new properties on sale in 2024.

Jet2Villas will have nearly 300 villa properties on sale.

The marketing campaign with the GNTO was launched last year and has been described as bringing “hugely successful results in terms of visibility, reach and engagement”.

The campaign has included offline and online advertising, social media campaigns, and press and influencer trips.
