Tui has provided an assurance that it will ensure holidaymakers get a “smooth experience” when flying from Manchester airport during a £1.3 billion revamp.
But the operator urged travellers to arrive in sufficient time to catch their flight.
In guidance posted on its website yesterday (Wednesday), Tui UK & Ireland said: “While the refurb’s going on, our check-in area may look a little different than normal.
“But don’t worry, our team are on hand to make sure your experience is a smooth one.
“As always, it’s a good idea to arrive at the airport with sufficient time before your flight.
“Our check-in desks open three hours before departure for flights to Europe and Africa, and four hours for long-haul flights giving you plenty of time to check in your luggage and make your way through security.
“Arriving any earlier than this won’t mean you can check in or pass through security early.”
Tui pointed out that bags can be checked in the afternoon and evening before departure on flights taking off before midday, except those going to the US.
Those driving to drop off luggage can use the west multi store car park at Terminal 2 free of charge for an hour.
“Rest assured, our team will be on hand to provide help and support wherever needed,” Tui added.
“Together with Manchester airport, we’re doing our best to make sure the facelift has the littlest effect as you pass through the airport. At the same time, we’re excited to be working behind the scenes to improve your future experience.”
The facelift at the northwest hub is due for completion in 2025 to provide more facilities including a high street-style shopping area, a Champagne bar and a food hall.
Tui also offered similar advice for Birmingham airport due to there construction of a £50 million new security area.
“We’d like to remind you to arrive at the airport with sufficient time before your flight.
“At the moment, we’re recommending giving yourself three hours for flights to Europe and Africa, and four hours for long-haul flights.
“That way, you’ll have plenty of time to check in your luggage and make your way through the security queues. Arriving any earlier than this won’t mean you can check in or pass through security early,” the company said.
