The Port of Dover’s cruise boss exepcts 2022 to be the first year the terminal welcomes ships throughout the entire year.

Head of cruise Sonia Limbrick said this year will be the busiest in the port’s history with Celebrity Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Ponant and Marella Cruises all scheduled to make calls.

Across the year, 11 ships – including Celebrity Apex in May – will make maiden calls to the port.

Limbrick said: “Following the launch of winter cruising at Dover in 2021, with Hurtigruten selecting the Port of Dover as their homeport, 2022 will mark the first year-round cruising season for the port.

“It is expected to be our busiest year yet as we welcome cruise ships every few days.”

She added: “Dover is a top choice cruise destination. With Covid-safe protocols firmly in place, it’s all systems go and we are overjoyed to be welcoming passengers back in their droves to the port throughout 2022.”
