Strikes by Gatwick baggage screeners which threatened to disrupt bank holiday travel have been suspended.
The industrial action, which had been set for August 22-26, will not now go ahead due to an improved pay offer, according to the Unite union.
Unite will be balloting the ICTS baggage screeners on the new offer over the coming days.
“Strike action scheduled from 22 August to 26 August will not take place,” a Unite statement said.
“If the offer is rejected, strike action from 29 August to 2 September will go ahead.”
Unite regional officer Ben Davis said: “Following an improved offer from ICTS, Unite has suspended strikes in order to ballot its members.”
