Hays Travel has extended its zero deposit campaign until the end of January.
The offer, which allows holidaymakers to book selected holidays without paying a deposit at the time of booking, was originally scheduled to end on January 12.
The retailer would not give a reason for extending the offer but said it would continue to offer zero deposits on holidays with the same range of ten suppliers until January 31.
Hays Travel has previously run similar zero deposit campaigns but not at this scale. Historically, zero deposits have been used by travel firms in peak season to attract new bookings but have also been associated with higher cancellation rates.
On the firm’s website, it said the move gave customers more time to “lock in” their “dream holiday with no upfront deposit required”.
It said: “Booking early means more than just starting the holiday countdown. You’ll secure early-bird prices, the best choice of regional flights, and the flexibility to spread the cost with interest-free monthly payments.”
The travel agency is also offering peak season savings of up to £500 plus free child places on selected holidays.
