Riu Hotels is adding two new beachfront properties to its collection next year, perfect for couples and families

From Dublin to Cancun and Gran Canaria to the Maldives, Riu Hotels has been hosting guests in some of the world’s most beautiful destinations for 70 years.

And now, the company is gearing up to add two new properties to its impressive roster of almost 100 hotels across 21 countries. The new additions, set to open in May 2024, will sit side-by-side on the pristine Morne Brabant beach in Mauritius, nestled at the foot of Morne Brabant Mountain.

Lapped by the sparkling turquoise Indian Ocean and surrounded by lush vegetation, Riu Turquoise and Riu Palace Mauritius will offer a high-end experience at an affordable price, with something to satisfy both families and couples.

Perfect for families

The beachfront Riu Turquoise has everything required for an unforgettable family getaway. In addition to breathtaking vistas that extend in every direction, the hotel boasts more than 380 rooms, designed with style and comfort in mind, and 24-hour all-inclusive service.

For soaking up the sun, the three sprawling pools are surrounded by an inviting sun deck and loungers, while the dedicated children’s pool, complete with pint-sized slides, is perfect for little ones who want to make a splash. For a little peace and quiet, there’s also a swim-up bar exclusively for adults.

During the day, there’s no shortage of activities to keep everyone entertained. RiuLand is a kids’ club paradise, while the nearby Indian Ocean entices guests with its watersports offering – snorkelling, kayaking and scuba diving are just a few that make up the selection.

Once the sun’s gone down, there are three restaurants to choose from for a delicious dinner – enjoy a buffet in the main restaurant or sample the dishes at the à la carte Indian eatery and steakhouse. Round off the evening with some live music as part of the hotel’s varied entertainment programme.

Adult-only escape

At the neighbouring Riu Palace Mauritius, couples can find their own slice of paradise nestled among the swaying palms. More than 300 rooms make up this exclusive four-star hotel, where guests can enjoy a restful, relaxing stay where everything is taken care of with the 24-hour all-inclusive service.

Guests can take their pick from the three outdoor pools to cool off in the tropical heat or head to the adjoining Riu Turquoise for an indulgent massage at the wellness centre.

There are plenty of tantalising choices at Riu Palace’s eateries, including live cooking stations in the main restaurant, à la carte fusion at Krystall and grilled specials at Pepe’s Food. Plus, guests can also sample the offering of Riu Turquoise’s restaurants.

Exclusive experience

For clients who want to add a little extra luxury to their stay, the Elite Club has just the ticket.

Guests who opt for a premium Elite Club room will enjoy early check-in, late check-out and an exclusive welcome gift.

As well as a king-sized bed and balcony or terrace, guests will also find essential oils for aromatherapy and an upgraded mini bar in their room. They’ll also have access to an on-site exclusive bar and dedicated check-in area – everything required for an extra special holiday.
