Industry veteran Steve Endacott has appointed former MyTravel colleague Martin Lomax as group managing director to oversee several of his AI-led start-up businesses.
The move comes days after Endacott – the chair of Neural River – launched Travel Voice, a firm dedicated to implementing an AI voice platform into the UK and European travel markets.
Endacott commented: “I am supposedly semi-retired, but my brain still demands to be active, and I’ve recently launched several ventures using the latest AI technology.
“Bringing in an experienced MD like Martin allows these young AI teams to thrive while he drives our commercial expansion within the travel sector and beyond.”
In his new role, Lomax will lead the newly established Travel Voice team, working alongside chief technology officer Richard Plant and chairman Ian Pattison to deploy advanced Voice AI solutions across a wide range of travel businesses.

Lomax said: “AI is an incredibly exciting space, and I’ve been hugely impressed with the tools developed by Travel Voice – having used and implemented them during my previous role as MD of FurtherTravel.
“Many travel companies know AI can transform their efficiency, but they often don’t know where to begin.”
With experience in automation and back-office optimisation from his time as managing director of Traverse Automation, Lomax believes AI now removes an even wider range of repetitive tasks from human workflows – allowing staff to refocus on customer interaction, service quality and revenue generation.
Pattison added: “Martin brings exceptional industry knowledge that will help us further develop our voice and non-voice AI products.
“He understands how proactive voice AI can enhance pre- and post-booking interactions and how automation can dramatically reduce the cost of repetitive tasks.
“Importantly, he has already implemented these technologies in multiple travel organisations and communicates their value clearly.”
