Explore Worldwide launches programme of food and drink tours

Explore Worldwide has brought out a collection of 10 new food and drink tours across Asia, South America and Europe.

The worldwide programme of Food Adventures aims to explore a country’s culture and history through its food with tasting opportunities, as well as offering the chance to meet local producers and vendors, visit markets and prepare dishes.

The 11-night Japan Food Adventure, from £3,995, includes the opportunity to try seafood in Tokyo and Hida beef and sake in Takayama, visit green tea capital Uji and join a private tea ceremony in Kyoto.

It also gives people the chance to try their hand at making wagashi making, visit Kenrokuen’s landscaped gardens, ride on the bullet train and stay in a family-run ryokan.

The seven-night Georgia Food Adventure, from £1,245, takes in the country’s historical sites, Tbilisi and Khachapuri, tours of vineyards and farmers’ markets in the Khakheti wine region, a trip to the Caucasus mountains, and the chance to dine with local families.

The seven-night Tuscany Food Adventure, from £1,995, explores the flavours of southern Tuscany including local produce and regional wines and also includes visits to farms and wine estates in hilltop towns and the medieval city of Siena.

Among other trips featured are a seven night Indian Food Adventure, from £1,195; a nine-night Peru Food Adventure, from £2,650; and six-night Jordan Food Adventure, from £1,025.
