G Adventures adds 17 trips to Geluxe Collection

G Adventures has added 17 trips to its Geluxe Collection, which the tour operator has hailed as its most successful product launch yet.

The new trips, spanning 10 countries, bring the total number of “premium active adventures” on offer to 45 across 26 nations.

The tour operator has described the collection as its stand-out launch to date based on the pace of bookings as well as volume.

Yves Marceau, G Adventures’ vice-president of product, said: “We’re delighted to be able to provide even more Geluxe options around the world, and at the same time give back to more local people and communities with this new style of travel.”

The new destinations are Argentina/Chile (Patagonia), Ecuador (Galápagos), Iceland, Ireland, India, Kenya, Portugal, Spain, Tanzania and Turkey, with departures available from October. The maximum group size is 16, with an average of 10-12 people per departure.

The Geluxe Collection incorporates outdoor physical activity alongside “one-of-a-kind accommodation” and “elevated dining experiences” based on local cuisine.

The series was announced in November 2023 with trips in Botswana, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Peru, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. Departures for these trips start in May.

The series has been proving popular with travellers aged 40 and above, according to Marceau, which is “slightly older” than G Adventures’ core demographic.

Marceau added: “It’s especially appealing to female travellers, a high proportion of whom are travelling solo, showing us there was a niche in the market that wasn’t being fulfilled.

“We’re also seeing a lot of couples looking to connect with other like-minded travellers.”

New itinerary ‘Kenya: Cultural Connections, Mt Kenya & the Maasai Mara’ starts at £5,099 per person – excluding international flights – for a 10-day return trip from Nairobi. Travellers will stay at a Maasai-owned-and-operated lodge.

‘Northern India: Riverside Safaris, Ancient Fortresses & the Taj Mahal’, another new trip, starts at £3,149 per person – excluding international flights – for a 15-day itinerary from Delhi to Mumbai.

Each Geluxe trip includes at least one ‘Your OMG Stay’ and one ‘Your OMG Day’.

The ‘stay’ element is a stand-out style of accommodation selected for its history, design or surrounding experiences, while the ‘day’ element offers travellers the chance to personalise one of their days by picking between two different experiences.

Examples include a yoga class on an organic farm in Pushkar, India, a river cruise with port tasting experience in Porto, and a half-day spent horseback-riding to scenic viewpoints in Los Glaciares National Park, Patagonia.
