Newmarket expects 2022 Lapland tours to sell out

Newmarket Holidays expects its 2022 Lapland programme to sell out with “strong” bookings so far.

The escorted tour specialist reported that its Swedish Lapland holidays for next winter are 75% sold already.

It offers chartered flights from 13 regional UK airports for more than 2,500 customers each year.

Despite Covid restrictions, Newmarket was able to operate its Lapland programme at the end of 2021.

Richard Forde, head of trade sales, said: “Our Lapland programme has always proved popular, especially with our travel agent partners.

“In 2021 we operated Lapland programme and this successful step forward set us in good stead for 2022, which is selling really strongly. We’re over 75% sold and are anticipating a sell-out season.”

Currently, Sweden requires proof of vaccination to enter but no Covid-19 test or self-isolation.

Forde added: “We know how challenging it’s been for our customers to have missed out on special moments with loved ones during the past festive seasons.

“Now, more than ever, we want to ensure they make up for that lost time – and Lapland, with its magical winter wonderland setting, is the perfect destination to do so.

“We hope that with the continued loosening of travel restrictions, the roll-out of the booster programme, and steadily growing customer confidence, the festive period in 2022 really will be the most wonderful time of the year.”
