Ambassador Cruise Line has re-emphasised a focus on child-free sailings as UK market leader P&O Cruises opened adult-only ships Aurora and Arcadia to families.
The ex-UK cruise specialist will only run one multi-generational sailing in August 2026 and all 2027-28 no-fly departures will be adult-only.
Chief executive Christian Verhounig said: “Our signature no-fly sailings showcase what makes Ambassador special; each has been conceived to celebrate our smaller ships and the opportunities they provide to offer the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, cultural immersion and - of course, our signature ‘warmest welcome at sea’.
“As an operator that prides itself on listening to its customers, we’ve refined our offering following extensive feedback to focus on what our guest’s value most – a traditional, authentic and adult-oriented cruising experience.
“Ambassador can therefore confirm that the 2027-28 season will be the first where every no-fly itinerary will be child-free.”
P&O Cruises last week revealed that it will accept family and multi-generational bookings on Aurora and Arcadia on selected sailings from December 2026.
The line will offer a combined total of 20 cruises for passengers of all ages departing from Southampton.
Agents have reported mixed reactions from clients to the move.
