Dublin Airport has warned travellers to allow extra time on journeys because of fuel protests causing traffic disruption.
Since Tuesday, protesters have been blocking roads across the Republic of Ireland while calling for the government to intervene on rising fuel prices linked to the Iran war.
Dublin Airport said: “Passengers travelling to/from Dublin Airport this morning (Friday) are advised to allow extra time for their journey due to protest activity causing traffic disruption on some roads approaching the airport, including the M50.
“Passengers should use live traffic/transport apps to identify their quickest/best route.”
The price of diesel in the Republic of Ireland has risen from about £1.48 a litre to £1.89 on many forecourts in recent weeks, according to the BBC and RTÉ, while petrol has often risen by about 20 pence a litre.
The rises have been caused by the conflict in the Middle East, during which the Strait of Hormuz has been closed.
