Hurtigruten has unveiled three new itineraries for 2027-28, including the operator’s first fjord-only route.
Between April 2027 and May 2028, the voyages on MS Trollfjord will provide a “deeper, more flexible way” to explore the Norwegian coast, with longer stays of nine to fifteen hours in fewer and lesser-visited ports such as new destinations Rosendal, Skjolden and Eidfjord.
Sailing routes will also be “adaptable” to enable captains to shift journeys around daily conditions to give passengers the best scenery and wildlife encounters.
The Inner Fjords Explorer is an eight-day voyage from Bergen and claims to sail further than other cruise lines into four western fjords: Lysefjord, Hardangerfjord, Sognefjord and Nordfjord.
The itinerary will operate in spring and autumn, with prices leading in from £1,686.
The Arctic Circle Explorer is an eight-day round trip from Tromso, with ports of call in Lofoten, Alta and Honningsvag
The winter itinerary includes optional excursions to the North Cape and an overnight stay in Alta, with prices beginning from £2,116.
The Arctic Line itinerary is a 12-day northbound or 11-day southbound route between Copenhagen and Tromso, featuring ports of all in Lofoten, the North Cape and overnight stays in Alta and Tromso.
The winter itinerary is designed to “maximise Northern Lights opportunities”, with fares starting from £2,527.
Passengers booking the new voyages by April 30 will receive up to £420 onboard credit per cabin.
Chief execution Hedda Felin said: “No one knows the Norwegian coastline like Hurtigruten.
“These new voyages are rooted in generations of local knowledge, allowing our captains to adapt each journey to the conditions of the day - revealing Norway at its most spectacular.
“They are voyages shaped by nature, guided by expertise, and created for travellers who want to truly connect with the places they visit, not just sail past them.”
