Liverpool John Lennon airport said August was its busiest ever month with more than 616,000 passengers using the hub during its busiest ever summer.
These latest figures beat the previous record set in July when more than 576,000 passengers travelled through the airport.
It is the first time that monthly passenger numbers have exceeded 600,000, and the August 2025 total is up 12% year on year.
The busiest route was Dublin, while Palma, Alicante, Malaga and Faro were the top Mediterranean destinations.
Furthermore, 84% of all passengers passed through security in less than 10 minutes and 95% in less than 15 minutes.
John Irving, chief executive, said: “Just last month we broke all previous records and, as expected, here we are repeating this achievement, now going over 600,000 monthly passengers for the first time in our 92-year history.
“The growing numbers of passengers choosing to fly from here this summer have been able to take advantage of the convenience of flying from Liverpool, along with our faster, easier, friendlier approach to the passenger experience, enjoying a host of new facilities which opened ahead of the peak summer season too.”
