Online travel agent loveholidays is protecting customers from airline fuel surcharges with a new no-surcharge commitment for this summer’s holidays.
The package holiday provider had previously pledged to never apply its own surcharges to holidays – but its updated policy now “shelters customers from the risk of any of its 140 global airline partners applying their own surcharges to existing bookings”.
“Should an airline apply a surcharge to a booking retrospectively, loveholidays will not pass the price increase on to its customers,” it said in a statement.
The OTA’s commitment applies to flights departing up to September 30, giving customers “confidence’ that the price they pay when booking their summer holiday will not change.
Donat Rétif, chief executive at loveholidays, said: “We know how important price certainty is for consumers right now. Our no-surcharge commitment offers reassurance that the amount our customers pay for their holidays at the time of booking will not change.
“Package holidays give consumers built-in protection they won’t get if they book their flights and hotels individually.
“There are still plenty of last-minute deals available for holidays this summer, and with the added confidence that pre-booked holidays won’t increase in price, now is a great time to book.”
