World Travel Market is to celebrate its 21st birthday with a spectacular, world-class social extravaganza that organisers promise will surpass last year’s highly popular Millennium Party.
The Coming of Age party for 1,000 guests is to be sponsored by Hilton again.
Preparations for the party, masterminded by international award-winning company, The Full Effect, are well under way.
A range of theatrical effects and techniques will be used with a cast of 40 dancers, singers and speciality performers and two dance bands, playing on immaculately reproduced 1920s bandstands.
Exhibition director Fiona Jeffery said: ” If you thought last year’s party was something special, then just wait until you see what we are planning for this year. It’s going to capture the ‘big band’ atmosphere of the 1920s, with the revelry of ragtime, the dancing and singing of Broadway, the sultry atmosphere of a Art Deco night club and the star-quality glamour of a Marlene Dietrich-style diva.”
The whole evening is being choreographed with split-second detail to ensure an array of innovative surprises. A foot-stomping finale will end with the guests joining the cast to dance.
The party will be held on Wednesday November 15 at the centrally heated 85-metre tented structure at the British Genius site in London’s Battersea.
Jeffrey added: “WTM’s 21st anniversary is a triumph for the hundreds of exhibitors, visitors and trade associations who have so loyally supported the event during the past 21 years. We owe it to everyone to make this the best party they have ever attended and that’s our intention.”
