EasyJet set for summer return to Israel

EasyJet has confirmed a return of flights to and from Tel Aviv in June after a ceasefire agreement was announced between Israel and Hamas.

The UK budget carrier is to resume service from Luton airport on June 1 with four flights a week, according to its website.

Flights to Israel destination were suspended in April last year, with the airline citing safety concerns.

The move followed low cost rival Wizz Air restarting service to the Israeli gateway last week.

The Israel Ministry of Tourism had indicated that easyJet would return to the route in early April as its UK director Michael Ben-Baruch voiced cautious optimism for Israel tourism in 2025.

But the airline’s UK country manager Ali Gayward said: “We are really pleased that as of the beginning of June, we plan to resume flights between Tel Aviv and seven destinations across our network.”

Other connections will be offered from Amsterdam, Basel, Berlin, Geneva, Milan and Paris.

One-way fares from Luton start at £153.99.

The news came ahead of easyJet releasing financial results for the first quarter of its 2025 financial year on Wednesday (January 22).
