Opening in April, the new Iberostar Selection Es Trenc is a five-star hotel offering a portal to the Majorcan way of life

Majorca is well known for its glorious beaches, with more than 250 of them stretching for a combined 30 miles, like slivers of gold wrapping themselves around the island’s fringes. Inspired by the Med

With blissful Majorcan landscapes on its doorstep, this Iberostar property didn’t need to look far when drawing inspiration for its interiors. Soft tones of beige and cream echo the area’s coastal sands, bringing the outside in. Guests can relax with the sea firmly in view as every room and suite has a balcony from which to enjoy it.

Accents of green are a nod to Majorca’s leafy nature, which can be seen further in the hotel’s communal areas such as the lobby and restaurant, where vases of emerald foliage blur the boundaries with Mother Nature. The Iberostar hotel’s on-site restaurant also brings nature onto clients’ plates, focusing on local recipes largely built around responsibly caught seafood and locally sourced vegetables. Its name, Salivent, combines two Majorcan words, sal (salt) and vent (wind), which reflect how Majorca’s scenery, and the produce grown within it, has been sculpted by natural forces.

The Mediterranean way of living is a relaxed one and that is embodied in the hotel’s spa and wellness area through its massages and treatments, with its scrubs and wraps using sea salt (Flor de Sal from Es Trenc) and water.
