Bristol airport gains new Athens link

Bristol airport has gained a new link to Athens with Aegean Airlines.

The Star Alliance carrier offers connections via its hub at the Greek capital to destinations including Cairo, Tel Aviv and Beirut.

The Greek carrier will compete with EasyJet on the route from Bristol.

Airport chief executive Dave Lees said: “This is an incredibly exciting milestone for Bristol airport adding Aegean Airlines to the Bristol airport airline family.

“Aegean Airlines is a major global airline and this decision shows confidence in the region.

“The regular scheduled service between Bristol and Athens opens up a wide range of European and worldwide connections to our customers.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Aegean Airlines and further exciting route opportunities for the future.“
