The Singapore Airlines Group cited “robust” leisure demand during the Easter holidays for strong passenger growth last month.
East Asia continued to see healthy growth in demand to China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
Group passenger capacity was up 36.7% year-on-year with carryings rising by 85.5% to a combined 2.7 million and a load factor of 88.3%.
SIA flew more than 1.7 million passengers and low cost arm Scoot 940,000.
Scoot resumed services to Haikou, Ningbo and Xi’an in mainland China during the month.
The group’s passenger network covered 112 destinations in 36 countries and territories by the end of April. SIA served 74 destinations, while Scoot covered 61.
