The Advantage Travel Partnership has partnered with AS Training to offer its members the chance to send frontline staff on a 12-week Travel Academy course.
The inaugural course with AS Training ran in 2024 and demand from consortium members who missed that programme means it is returning in March.
It aims to help agents who are new to the sector, returning to travel or have significant skills gaps that can be covered by the course.
David Moon, head of business development at Advantage Travel Partnership, said the course was introduced in 2024 as “a direct answer to our members’ call for comprehensive, structured training for frontline staff entering the industry, and the response has been really encouraging”.
“This isn’t just another training programme, it’s a transformative experience that builds genuine confidence, sharpens critical skills and equips consultants with practical knowledge they can put into action from day one,” he said.
“Our strategic partnership with AS Training has been the cornerstone of this success, delivering cutting-edge industry expertise and dynamic, highly relevant content that doesn’t just educate it empowers.
“Together, we’re helping our members not only grow and diversify, but truly future-proof their businesses in an ever-evolving travel landscape.”
Michelle Van Sprang, managing director of AS Training, said the course is a short, comprehensive introduction to travel and is held weekly on Teams over 12 weeks.
“We delve into a variety of subject areas…customer journey, customer experience, marketing and AI, sales and performance, sustainability, adventure and touring, ski, cruise and legislation,” she said.
“The idea of this programme is to enhance skillset and performance in the workplace, so candidates feel more confident and knowledgeable.
“They will go through this as a cohort, assigned a specialist assessor from our end [and] supported by a variety of operators who will be individually joining each session to discuss their products and services, to enhance the journey.”
