Meghan Trainor named as Utopia of the Seas godmother

Grammy-winning ‘All About That Bass’ singer Meghan Trainor is to act as godmother to new Royal Caribbean International ship Utopia of the Seas.

The ceremony will take place next week as part of a three-night introductory cruise ahead of the vessel making its debut in Port Canaveral in Florida on July 19.

A live performance on the ship will be part of the celebrations, including a party at the line’s Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.

The three-night event starts on July 15.

Royal Caribbean International president and chief executive Michael Bayley said: “Utopia of the Seas is where making the most of the weekend and every moment are more than a state a mind, they’re a reality any day of the week. 

“This is the short getaway that’s all about celebrations, celebrating friends, family and the memories you make together.

Trainor added: ”It’s an incredible honor to join the Royal Caribbean family as godmother of Utopia of the Seasand set the tone for the parties to come.
