NCL adds more capacity with Norwegian Encore revamp

A new adults-only area (pictured) and 24 balcony cabins are being added to Norwegian Cruise Line ship Norwegian Encore.

The 4,000-passenger capacity ship is to undergo a two week revamp in dry dock from November 18.

Replacing a laser tag arena, the new outdoor lounge will combine the amenities of Spice H2O from the line’s Breakaway-Plus class with those from Infinity Beach of the latest Prima class vessels.

Multiple hot tubs, eight large day beds surrounded by cooling pools and a large bar are among the promised features.

Two popular speciality restaurants, Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki, are being expanded and suites redesigned in The Haven ‘ship within a ship’ area.

Once the work is completed, the ship, launched under five years ago, will embark on a 12-day transatlantic crossing from Southampton to Miami.

Norwegian Encore will then spend the winter in the Caribbean until March 2025 before re-locating to Seattle to run seven-day cruises to Alaska.

NCL president David Herrera said: “Our guests’ wants and needs are at the forefront of every decision that we make, and enhancing Norwegian Encore with more of the experiences they value showcases our commitment to just that.

“From more space for adults to relax, to more opportunities to enjoy their favourite dining options and beyond, we are dedicated to providing our guests with an elevated onboard experience as part of their dream vacation.”
