Viking has added two UK itineraries in June to its domestic programme and has announced plans to run limited operations in Bermuda and Iceland.
All sailings will be available only to vaccinated guests, with the additional UK England’s Scenic Shores itineraries onboard Viking Venus after the line’s initial programme sold out within a week.
The eight-day round-trip Bermuda and Iceland itineraries will begin in June and will be operated on Viking Orion and Viking Sky respectively.
The company said it was actively working on developing further Welcome Back sailings in destinations including Greece, Turkey, and Malta and hoped to announced further 2021 sailings as soon as government approvals are given.
Torstein Hagen, Viking chairman, said: “We applaud the governments of the United Kingdom, Bermuda and Iceland for their collaboration and support in restarting the cruise industry safely.
“No other travel company has implemented the same science-led approach that includes a vaccination requirement for all guests, plus frequent non-invasive saliva PCR testing among all guests and crew.
“Therefore, we believe there will be no safer way to travel the world than on a Viking voyage. We look forward to welcoming guests back on board—and welcoming them back to the world.”
