Hays Travel agencies from Dorset to Scotland have raised thousands in recent weeks with fundraising events to support local charities.
A group of six Lytham travel agents walked 14 miles from their shop to their colleagues’ shop in Cleveleys to raise £506 for a charity supporting local families called The Coastal Collective.
Branch manager Laura Hedhli said: “It was the back end of Storm Amy, and it was a challenge, especially down Blackpool Promenade in the strong winds…but we powered through.
“My family have received bespoke support from [the charity], along with other families that I know. We all felt so strongly about the work this charity does.”

The Sherborne branch in Dorset raised more than £500 for The Rendezvous charity by hosting a ‘Quingo night’.
More than 50 guests joined them for an evening that included a quiz and bingo.
Branch manager Shannon Fleat said: “We chose to support The Rendezvous because of the incredible difference they make in helping young people to reach their full potential. They supported me in gaining my maths qualification, which in turn allowed me to successfully complete my apprenticeship with Hays Travel.”

In Scotland, the Motherwell branch raised more than £1,800 for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, by organising a ladies afternoon tea at the Best Western Moorings hotel.
More than 50 guests came along for the tea, which included a raffle and games.
Assistant manager Nicole Carroll said: “We chose this charity as it’s very close to my family. My husband has Spina Bifida, and his mum has been actively involved with the charity for over 30 years.
“It was also important to us to support an organisation that does so much for families and creates a real sense of community and support.”
Each Hays Travel branch is provided with a £500 budget to use for fundraising and charity work in their local area; £200 of this is to be used to fundraise for charities which support young people’s mental health, the rest can be used for other charities chosen by the branch.
