Hurtigruten UK & EMEA sales director James Howlett is taking up a newly-created role at Solmar Villas.
He has been appointed as sales and distribution director and will assume the position from the end of April.
Howlett has more than a decade of experience in the travel industry, including spells at Fred Holidays, Uniworld and Collette.
He will lead and scale the sales function for Solmar cross B2B and B2C channels, shaping and executing a sales and distribution strategy, developing the sales team, and growing relationships with key distribution partners including travel agents, tour operators and OTAs, according to the company.
General managed Sharon Bradbury said: “We cannot wait for James to join our team at the end of April.
“This is a critical role for the business and with James’s stellar background and results-driven approach to leadership, we know he’s going to make a real difference to our business and be a great fit with our company culture.”
Howlett said: “I’m really excited to be joining Solmar Villas at such an important stage in its growth. The team has already done a fantastic job building a strong brand, trusted trade partnerships, and real momentum across both B2B and B2C channels.
“Having led the UK and EMEA sales strategy at Hurtigruten, I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to Solmar - supporting the team, strengthening our distribution partnerships and building on the great work already underway to drive sustainable growth.”
Hurtigruten chief commercial officer Iain Powell added: “During his time with Hurtigruten, James has been a valued member of the team and has supported our efforts in strengthening relationships with agents and partners.
“We thank him for his dedication and contributions and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.”
