Iglu Cruise was honoured with three awards at Carnival UK’s UK Cruise Awards on Thursday night (February 23).
Carnival and its subsidiary brands brought together more than 200 invitees to celebrate agent achievements over the past year at 8 Northumberland Avenue in central London, with BBC Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox hosting proceedings.
Each of the cruise giant’s lines handed out two awards – the Partnership Achievement Award to recognise “exceptional collaboration” and the Outstanding Contribution Award to reward “long-term dedication to their brands”.
Iglu Cruise was the big winner on the night, receiving the nod from Cunard, Holland America Line and Princess Cruises for outstanding contribution.
ROL Cruise was a double winner with recognition from Holland America Line and P&O Cruises for partnership achievement.
Meanwhile, Cunard recognised Bolsover Cruise Club for partnership achievement, with Princess Cruises presenting Cruise 118 with the equivalent award.
Seabourn presented accolades for partnership achievement to Six Star Cruises and another for outstanding contribution to Sovereign Cruise Club.
Hays Travel won an outstanding contribution award from P&O Cruises.
Individual accolades voted on by all five lines were also presented to travel partners and individuals for “demonstrated excellence in specific areas”.
Tui senior commercial manager Dan Wishart was handed the Rising Star Award by Cunard associate vice-president of EMEA sales Iain Baillie and P&O Cruises associate vice-president of sales and distribution Ruth Venn.
Cruise Kings, Trailfinders, Hays Travel, Tui, LoveItBookIt, Panache Cruises, ROL Cruise and Iglu Cruise were also highly commended in different categories.
Meanwhile, Cunard president Katie McAlister gave Bolsover Cruise Club the Excellent Innovation Award and Travel Counsellors was recognised for its Exceptional Customer Care by Seabourn UK and EMEA vice-president Lynn Narraway and Princess UK, Ireland and EMEA vice-president Eithne Williamson.
