Intrepid Travel has named Joanna Reeve as its new general manager for the UK & Ireland.
Reeve joined the operator 12 years ago and has held a range of roles including leading the company’s tailor-made and private groups division and heading up trade sales.
She was most recently head of partnerships, with responsibility for business development and B2B relationships.
Reeve will report to EMEA managing director Zina Bencheikh and her predecessor Hazel McGuire, who was recently appointed chief marketing officer.
Reeve said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be promoted into this role — it’s such an incredible opportunity. From the standout product to our genuine commitment to making travel a force for good for people and the planet, I’m proud to represent the Intrepid brand and our region.
“I want to thank the travel trade and our agent partners for their unwavering support — they have been critical to what we achieved as a business in the UK and very much a part of our future growth plans.”
She added: "I’m looking forward to working closely with Zina and Hazel, both of whom have also been instrumental in driving growth in the region. I can’t wait to continue this fantastic work as we move towards our ambitious 2023 strategy."
Bencheikh said: “Jo has been an instrumental member of the UK team for more than a decade. She brings an outstanding level of industry knowledge, and I know she has some incredibly exciting plans for the region and the trade.
“I can’t wait to work closely with her and help take the business to the next level in the UK and Ireland.”
