Jet2holidays has introduced “game-changing” new functionality to its app to allow customers to track their return coach transfers in real-time.
The operator said testing of the Live Transfer Status functionality had led to a “significant” reduction in call volumes, adding enquiries about return transfers were one of the biggest drivers of calls to operators and agents.
The service will initially be available to customers in the Balearics, Canaries, Mainland Spain, Morocco, Turkey and Bulgaria, with plans to extend it to destinations including Greece for summer 2026.
It is available from 30 minutes before a pick-up time, and allows customers to see real-time information including pick-up location, expected pick-up times, driver name and vehicle registration plate number.
In addition to the return options, customers using the app can also access coach transfer information on arrival, including coach number and parking location.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive Steve Heapy said: “With millions of customers travelling on hundreds of thousands of coach transfers with Jet2holidays every year, our pioneering Live Transfer functionality is a real game-changer for us and for our customers.
“By providing customers with more real-time information about their coach transfer to the departure airport it means a hassle-free end to their holidays, which in turn is already resulting in far fewer calls to our contact centre and to our independent travel agent partners.”
