Manchester Airports Group (MAG) saw January passenger numbers rise to a record 4.1 million.
The owner of Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands airports reported a 3.7% increase against the first month of last year.
This gave the airports operator a rolling 12-month total of 66.2 million passengers, up 2.4% year on year.
The group’s performance was largely driven by record passenger numbers at Manchester Airport.
The northern hub handled 2 million passengers across January, up by 5.5% on the same month in 2025.
The airport’s rolling 12-month passenger total was 32.2 million, a 4.1% increase.
Stansted numbers rose by 2% to 1.9 million, bringing the rolling 12-month passenger total to 30.1 million, a 1.3% increase on the previous year.
East Midlands Airport served more than 138,000 passengers last month, a 1.6% increase year on year.
MAG began the year with strong operational performance across all three airports.
All passengers using Stansted and East Midlands passed through security in 15 minutes or less. The figure was 99% at Manchester Airport.
The numbers came as Heathrow saw its busiest January with 6.5 million passengers.
