Departure delays continued to affect Norse Atlantic Airways in April as year-on-year passenger carryings rose by 58%.
The low cost long-haul carrier reported continuing record monthly load factors of 95% across its own network and charter operations.
The level was up 19% and 16% on ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance)/charter operations.
But only 71% of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights left within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time against 81% in the same month last year.
April was the third month in succession where the airline’s on-time performance was “negatively impacted” by air traffic control delays and airport congestion.
Total carryings reached almost 156,000 against 98,542 in the same month last year.
The airline operated 433 flights across its scheduled network and 66 on charter operations.
Founder, chief executive and major shareholder Bjorn Tore Larsen said: “I’m pleased that for the third consecutive month we reached a record-high 95% load factor across our own scheduled network and chartered flights.
“We have a good momentum into the upcoming busy summer months, where we will continue to deliver our affordable, value for money product to our customers worldwide.”
