Royal Caribbean has brought forward Legend of the Seas’ inaugural sailing next summer as construction is “progressing ahead of schedule”.
Passengers booked on the voyage were informed by email that the third Icon Class ship would enter service just over three weeks earlier than previously expected.
The line will add three seven-night sailings on July 11, July 18 and July 25 before the original scheduled launch date of August 2.

The inaugural sailing will now depart from Civitavecchia instead of Barcelona.
The cruise will call in Naples, Barcelona, Palma De Mallorca and Marseille.
Passengers booked on to the original inaugural cruise will have the priority to move to earlier sailings before they go on general sale.
Suite passengers will have one week to take advantage of price protection to swap over to the first sail date, and after a week has passed and for the two additional sale dates, this will be at the prevailing rate.
Passengers booked in interior, oceanview and balcony cabins can transfer their bookings to an earlier sailing at the prevailing rate.
