MSC Cruises unveils features on MSC World America

MSC Cruises has shared details of its newest ship, MSC World America.

The LNG-powered vessel, which is scheduled to enter service in April 2025, will have 20 bars and lounges, 13 restaurants, six pools and 14 hot tubs, as well as an 11-deck-high slide.

The ship will feature seven ‘districts’, each with its own “atmosphere, facilities and experiences”, the line said.

As on other ships in the fleet, MSC World America will have an MSC Yacht Cub which offers guests butler service, priority embarkation and disembarkation and has a private lounge and dining room.

The Family Aventura district will be home to outdoor park The Harbour which has a high ropes course and playground. This line said The Harbour will also have a “state-of-the-art attraction never before seen at sea”, which it will reveal at a later date.

Children’s area Doremiland will also be in the Family Aventura with facilities for children of all ages, including bumper cars, a roller rink and a water park which will feature a virtual reality experience.

The Aqua Deck district will be home to the ship’s two main pools, one of which will have a retractable roof, and will serve as an entertainment venue in the evenings, while the adults-only Zen Area district will offer two other pools and promises a “haven of relaxation and rejuvenation”.

Passengers can shop at the Galleria district which will also have a Jean Phillippe Chocolat & Cafe as well as new dining concept Luna Park Pizza & Burger, which will offer complimentary fast food options.

More shops will be available at the Terraces district as well as nine restaurants and bars and a comedy club which will also serve as a duelling pianos bar and karaoke room.

The seventh district is the Promenade which will be half indoors and half outdoors and framed by an 11-deck-high dry slide. It will be home to shops, a coffee bar and dining venues.

MSC World America is the line’s second World-class ship and will being operating its maiden season on April 12, 2025, sailing alternating seven-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries with stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Isla de Roatan, Honduras.

A spokesperson said: “MSC World America will feature seven distinct districts each bringing together a range of tailored experiences.

“Combining bars, restaurants, entertainment and leisure facilities, each district will meet the needs, moods and desires of travellers throughout their time on board.”
