National Holidays visits 55 travel agencies in first full week on the road

National Holidays reps have visited 55 travel agencies in the operator’s first full week out on the road since it became part of the JG Travel Group last summer.

The operator reported a successful first week of going into agency branches, with positive feedback and a warm reception from agents – most of whom had not received a visit from a tour operator rep for more than a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The operator recently partnered with Flexi Reps to provide two on the road field sales reps to increase its trade engagement as demand for UK holidays increases.

Agents in key sales areas in the North East and North West which sell tours departing from National Holidays’ main pick-up points are being visited.

Claire Dutton, trade sales manager, National Holidays, said: “Both Michael Bowers and Simon McDermott have had a fantastic first week visiting agents on behalf of The JG Travel Group, promoting our National Holidays brand.

“Agents have been really pleased to see them and fed back to us how much they appreciate our visits as they recognise the importance of face-to-face supplier contact. Both reps will continue to visit agents in the North East and North West throughout May to ensure agents are up to speed on our products and ultimately help them grow their UK holiday sales.”

Mollie Ince, travel consultant, Hays Travel, Rochdale, who received a visit from National Holidays, said: “It has just been so lovely to have a supplier sales rep walk through our door as it’s been over a year since we’ve had any visits. UK holidays are of course a focus for us this year and I can’t tell you how refreshing it has been to talk face-to-face and hear all about what National Holidays has to offer. There simply is no better way to for us to improve our product knowledge and ensure we are maximising every sales opportunity.”

The National Holidays brand and database became part of the JG Travel Group, which owns touring brands Just Go! Holidays and Omega Breaks, last summer. National Holidays previously formed part of the portfolio of Shearings’ owner Specialist Leisure Group, which went into administration on May 22, 2020.
