Universal Orlando Resort has released the first official photographs from its fourth theme park – Universal Epic Universe – which is due to open on May 22.
The park will feature more than 50 experiences across five themed “worlds” – Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.
Epic Universe will also feature the 500-room Universal Helios Grand Hotel, which will overlook the park and will feature a dedicated entrance. The company put initial ticket options on sale last autumn.
The official photos include The Chronos, a “portal” that will serve as the gateway to Celestial Park, an area featuring a shooting comet roller coast and food and retail outlets.
They also include the 1920s Place Cachee in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic park (main photo).
The area, described as “a hidden, bustling shopping district in wizarding Paris”, will be accessed from a Muggle park and will also feature dining and shopping options alongside full-scale theatre experience, Le Cirque Arcanus.
Guests will also be able to enjoy the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride, which centres on the trial of Dolores Umbridge at the British Ministry of Magic.
The first photo of the How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk area shows two 40-foot-tall Viking statues and a village in which guests can enjoy rides including Hiccup’s Wing Gliders and Fyre Drill.
In the Dark Universe park, guests will explore the village of Darkmoor – home to Universal monster characters including Dracula, The Wolf Man, Frankenstein’s Monster.
The main attraction within the area is Frankenstein Manor, where guests “will venture deep into catacombs and face a horde of enraged monsters” on a ride called Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.
Described as “Universal’s most colourful and interactive experience yet”, Super Nintendo World will be accessed by the brand’s “iconic green pipe”.
Inside, guests will be “immersed into the worlds of beloved Nintendo characters Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Donkey Kong and more” while encountering familiar sights from Ninteno games, including Mt.Beanpole.
