Provider cuts Covid PCR test costs by £30

Covid-19 testing prices are being cut by as much £30 by provider DAM Health.

PCR tests now cost £69 with an adult and child test bundle at £89 and adult antigen tests at £29.

The reduced prices come as demand rises ahead of the October school half-term.

The company, which runs 45 UK clinics, provided 18,000 free tests for children over the summer.

It provides rapid testing with PCR results within three to six hours depending on location.  The firm also offers PCR Fit To Fly, PCR Fit To Work and rapid antibody testing.

A spokesperson said: “As the requirements for travel continue to change DAM Health has adapted to what many consumers and businesses need, from families travelling abroad to helping companies and their staff flourish again.

“Entering the winter there will still be a reliance for PCR tests which are the most accurate way of testing for Covid-19.”

Director of medicine Professor Frank Joseph said: “As we have seen, the pandemic has kept us all guessing from the earliest days of the crisis in 2020 through to the present.

“We continue to adapt to this ever-changing situation, which this week includes us introducing lower testing fees across all of our services.

“We want to keep testing as affordable as possible whilst also providing the safest and most accurate method of testing for Covid-19 – with PCR tests.

“Testing is certainly here to stay in the shadow of Covid and we will continue to innovate and evolve our company, both here across the UK and on the international stage.”
