Malta Tourism Authority unveils wellbeing training hub

Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) has launched a training programme about the destination’s wellbeing offering, which is a key theme for the tourism board in 2022.

There are six new lessons for travel agents on the MTA training website to help the trade capitalise on trends for holidays with a healthy focus.

Wellness and active experiences in Malta include scuba diving, stand-up paddle boarding, sunrise views, spas, ancient culture and Chinese gardens.

Until the end of March, agents can take part in an online quiz at the end of the training course, after which they will be entered into a draw to win one of five luxury wellbeing goody bags, including gastronomy items, Maltese soap and a candle.

Peter Green, UK & Ireland trade trainer, said: “The pandemic raised the importance of health and wellbeing, not just in day-to-day life, but also through holidays and international travel.

“Malta is the ideal destination to create a sense of wellbeing through physical, mental and spiritual activities and experiences, and we are excited for travel agents to expand their knowledge through our brand-new programme.”

The training platform is also home to another 11 courses covering topics such as city breaks, families, under 30s, scuba diving and the LGBT+ community – plus more chances to win prizes.
