Stuba records best sales day in 33 years of trading

Accommodation-only specialist Stuba has achieved its best sales day in its 33-year trading history.

The record-breaking day, Friday, January 12, came in a two-week period during which sales were 24% up year on year.

Chief commercial officer Matt Stuart said: “We are thrilled to see these figures for the first two weeks of January. Our growth and the overwhelming support from agents and customers reaffirm our position as a leader in the sector.”

More agents than ever are booking with Stuba, the company said, with an additional 76 agents booking in the first two weeks of January compared with the same period last year.

The destinations showing the biggest growth year on year include Tenerife (+88%), Barcelona (+74%), Las Vegas (+66%) and Abu Dhabi (+61%).

Other destinations with double-digit growth include the Amalfi Coast, Majorca, Crete, Corfu, St Lucia and Jamaica.

The average length of stay has remained static at 3.5 nights, with the average daily rate described as “standing strong” at £220.

Stuart said: “It’s great to see that both long-haul and short-haul destinations are being booked and seeing exceptional growth.

“We’ve enhanced our already outstanding pricing in key regions and consistently refined our website based on valuable agent feedback. These figures are a testament to the trust of our agents.”

Last year was Stuba’s previous best on record.
