Virgin Atlantic is boosting an air link to India for the first three months of 2026.
The frequency of flights between Heathrow and Bengaluru (Bangalore) is being raised from seven to 11 flights a week in January, February and March.
The extra flights supplement the airline’s existing daily schedule to Bengaluru, first introduced in March 2024.
The enhanced schedule complements double daily services from Heathrow to both Delhi and Mumbai and builds on a partnership with IndiGo, providing onward connections to 33 destinations across India including Goa, Amritsar and Jaipur.
India represents Virgin Atlantic’s largest area of growth outside the US, according to the carrier.
The airline has increased capacity to India by 250% since 2019, now offering more than 500,000 seats a year.
Bengaluru, also known as the Silicon Valley of India, is a rapidly growing tech hub and one of the largest corporate markets in India.
The service is operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with 31 Upper Class, 35 premium, and 192 economy seats, plus the airline’s Upper Class social space.
Virgin Atlantic chief commercial officer Juha Jaervinen said: “We’re delighted to be strengthening our Bengaluru service, reflecting strong customer demand and our continued commitment to India.
“As one of India’s most dynamic technology and business hubs, it’s fantastic to be able to offer more choice for travellers between Bengaluru and the UK, as well as greater connectivity to North America with our partners, Delta Air Lines and Westjet.”
