Six reasons to book a Norwegian cruise with Havila Voyages

Just one of two cruise lines operating along the Norwegian coast, Havila Voyages ensures your clients not only glide through a seldom-seen side to the country but really get stuck in and experience it for themselves. It’s this destination-first approach that makes its adventures so unique for clients and these six reasons will show you exactly how.

1. The ships are modern and spacious

The comfort and service afforded on Havila Voyages’ quartet of ships means your clients will have no trouble relaxing on board, leaving them to focus on the widescreen scenery they’ll witness while everything else is taken care of. Inside, the decor reflects the glaciers, mountains and sky that passengers pass, and classic Nordic touches such as natural woods and soft lighting ensure cabins feel like a home from home. Curated artwork from renowned Norwegian artists adds finesse to surroundings on board, while the lounge chairs on Deck 9 allow guests to appreciate Mother Nature’s own artistry outside, blending comfort with the landscapes – much like Havila’s fleet as a whole.

2. Sustainability is a core part of Havila’s philosophy

Havila Voyages is a company committed to sustainability. Since 2023, it’s the only cruise line that sails partly emission-free through Norway’s Unesco-protected fjords. Each of its ships are fitted with large batteries, among the biggest of their kind on passenger ships, that allow them to cruise through ecologically fragile places for up to four hours at a time, ensuring zero-emission, silent travel and conscience-free sailing for guests. Havila wants to keep growing its environmental credentials and is still actively investing in a variety of technologies with two main goals in mind: to cruise carbon natural along the Norwegian coast by 2028 and to be entirely emission free by 2030.

3. Each cruise is bursting with experiences

The Norwegian coast is wild, wonderful and packed with adventure – something Havila Voyages recognises with its itineraries. This is one of the things your clients can experience on the cruise line’s signature 12-day round trip, which starts and ends in Bergen and goes as far as Kirkenes on Norway’s northern tip, while six- and seven-day one-way cruises offer clients a shorter alternative to travel either northbound or southbound. On board, activities will have clients gripped as experts share information on local art and history, as well as recalling legendary stories of Vikings, witch trials and polar expeditions. But the fun really begins with the organised excursions off the ship, where clients can immerse themselves with activities including a whale safari, king crab fishing, city tours, kayaking and much more.

Clients might think they pause their local immersion when it’s time to sit down for meals on board – but that’s not the case with Havila Voyages. Traditional cruise ships often veer towards the safety of international cuisine, but Havila recognises its passengers should not only be experiencing the destination but tasting it, too. So, as the cruise moves up the coast the menu changes, with local dishes reflecting the specialities of each region passengers pass through, with coastal favourites such as klipfish and herring joined by fjord-fresh seafood such as brown crab and halibut.

5. There are sailings year round

Of course, the northern lights are a big draw for anyone looking for a holiday in the Nordics. But with year-round sailings, Havila Voyages know there are treasures to be unearthed along Norway’s coast no matter what time of year clients visit. Winter passengers will be keen to spot the aurora, but there’s also dog-sledding, snowmobiling and unique Arctic culture to embrace. In spring and summer, they can try mountain hiking, kayaking and witness the phenomenon of the midnight sun, while in autumn, Norway’s wilderness is bathed in golden hues and plays host to cheery festivals in local towns.

6. It’s offering an early-bird promotion

Havila Voyages has launched an autumn offer, promising savings of up to £290 per cabin, with the added bonus of the same amount in onboard credit. The promotion covers all sailings from 1 January, 2026, to 31 March, 2027, on the iconic Norwegian coastal routes, including the 12-day Round Voyage and selected one-way or partial segments.

New bookings made for the Round Voyage will qualify for the full £290 per cabin saving plus £290 onboard credit, while the Voyage North and Voyage South itineraries will both qualify for £140 savings plus £140 credit. Solo travellers haven’t been forgotten either, with the cabin saving and onboard credit being £140 for the Round Voyage and £70 for the Voyage North or Voyage South. The offer is valid for new bookings made until November 15, 2025.
