Tread the globe with Ramble Worldwide

Since 1946, Ramble Worldwide has been planning memorable walking holidays around the world. They offer guided and self-guided tours, taking clients to exotic corners of the Earth such as Morocco and Sri Lanka, or to the beauty of their own backyard in England, Scotland and Ireland.

In the UK, Hassness House is Ramble Worldwide’s exclusively owned property in the Lake District, where clients can base themselves while embarking on spectacular trails in and around the hills, lakes and fells of Cumbria. And various walking grades and itinerary lengths mean clients of varying ages and interests can explore the great outdoors. As members of Aito, and following new agreements with The Advantage Travel Partnership and Hays Travel, Ramble Worldwide is actively looking to work with agents to send clients on their next dream walking holiday.

Walk this way

Ramble Worldwide offers walking trips across the globe, in four distinct styles of travel.

CLASSIC

Send clients on iconic routes or off-the-beaten-path hikes on a Classic Walking Holiday, with handcrafted itineraries adjusted for all abilities. All tours are guided by Ramble Worldwide’s experienced leaders.

DISCOVER

Dive deeper with Discover tours to immerse clients in the food, culture or wildlife in destinations from Spain to Costa Rica. Whether they want to experience the traditions of Japan or traverse the Isle of Man, small groups and local experiences make these trips unforgettable.

ADAGIO

For clients looking to travel at leisure, Adagio tours take in art, culture and cuisine at a more relaxed pace. Local accommodation, knowledgeable guides and plenty of free time mean guests can enjoy the best of both worlds, perhaps strolling in the sunshine in the Isles of Scilly or following in the footsteps of Cezanne in Provence.

SELF-GUIDED

If independence is at the top of a client’s requirements, Ramble Worldwide’s Self-Guided journeys take the hassle out of logistics. Accommodation, route maps for all levels and luggage transfers are included, leaving guests free to explore to their heart’s content.

1. Hassness House

Ramble Worldwide’s private country house is the perfect base for guided walks in the Lake District. With trips spanning three to seven nights, guests can explore the sweeping landscapes and rolling hills on guided or self-guided walks around Buttermere, the Western Fells and Borrowdale Valley. There are also Discover walks combining walking with yoga, active pursuits and navigation skills.

2. The West Highland Way

Clients can uncover Scotland’s wild beauty on an eight-day trail from the outskirts of northern Glasgow to the base of majestic Ben Nevis. A self-guided route means clients can enjoy the magic of Loch Lomond and climb the Devil’s Staircase while stopping for photos or a picnic as they please.

4. Explore Jersey

Just nine by five miles but packed with an array of sights, Jersey promises windswept beaches, historic fortifications and fresh seafood. This seven-day Classic tour takes guests around the largest of the Channel Islands, with stops at Mont Orgueil Castle, Jersey War Tunnels and Grève de Lecq beach.

6. Walk the Pembrokeshire Coast

This Classic, moderately challenging walking trip guides clients from Dale to Pwll Deri on the Welsh coast. It’s not all hard work – walkers will enjoy the golden beaches at Newgale, the colourful harbour at Porthgain and well-earned drinks at cosy local pubs.
