Celebrity Silhouette completes 42-day makeover

Celebrity Silhouette has undergone a 42-day revamp ahead of its summer season based in Southampton.

The Solstice-class vessel’s makeover is part of Celebrity Cruises’ $500 million project to update nine ships across the fleet and bring them in line with Celebrity Edge and the incoming Celebrity Apex, due to launch next month.

This latest revamp included the addition of six new staterooms, all-inclusive area The Retreat for suite passengers, cocktail bar The Entertainment Court and casual dining restaurant Craft Social, formerly known as Cellar Masters.

Silhouette is the fourth Celebrity ship to undergo a revamp as part of the fleet modernisation project due to be completed by February 2023.

This summer, the 2,800-passenger will offer 17 voyages out of Southampton to destinations including the Norwegian Fjords, the Baltics, Spain and Portugal.

Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity Cruises president and chief executive, said: “In many spaces, we worked down to the studs and built it all back up again in the modern, ultra-luxurious style that is synonymous with our innovative Edge Series [ships], while still keeping much of the Solstice Series charm and beauty our guests have grown to cherish.”

Crew areas, such as the gym, outdoor bar and lounge area, have also been upgraded.
