Lufthansa is to start flights from Gatwick to Frankfurt and Wizz Air to Nice from next spring.
The German carrier will start serving its main hub in Germany from Gatwick from April 23 with two flights a day.
Frankfurt is one of a number of new routes expected to be announced by Gatwick for the new year, according to the airport.
Meanwhile, low cost carrier Wizz Air has scheduled daily flights to the French Riviera gateway of Nice from March 26. One-way fares start at £26.99.
The airline now offers more than 25 routes from Gatwick following the opening of its base at the airport in October 2020.
